Wednesday season 3 just announced some more cast additions, and they include an icon with more than a passing connection to the show's creator and star!

Season 3 of Wednesday is currently in production, and fans are eager to see the return of the Tim Burton-produced take on The Addams Family. It’s expected to pick up from the season 2 finale, where Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) left her Nevermore Academy in search of her best friend Enid (Emma Myers), who was stuck in a werewolf form.

It has already been announced that Eva Green is joining the series as Ophelia, the long-lost sister to Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones), who seems to have a sinister connection to Wednesday. Now, via a wild announcement video from Netflix, we’ve got five new cast members announced, who are all going to be top-notch!

Which new actors are joining Wednesday season 3?

The video itself is unique, with a dinner-party setup, a cameo by Thing, Enid’s name thrown into the fire, and an appearance by Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester.

The biggest name in the cast is one who knows both Burton and Ortega well: Winona Ryder. Fresh off her role in Stranger Things, the veteran actress joins as “Tabitha.” Ryder broke out to fame in Burton’s 1988 hit Beetlejuice. She returned to the role in the 2024 sequel Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice where Ortega played her daughter. Thus, having them on screen together again will be a delight.

Also on board is Chris Sarandon as “Balthazar.” The actor has a long and storied career, with his most famous roles being the horror film Fright Night and Prince Humperdinck in The Princess Bride. Interestingly, his name is shown in the video on a wine bottle next to another with a question mark, indicating another big name coming to join him.

Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders) will play Cyrus, Oscar Morgan (A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms) is Atticus, and Kennedy Moyer of Task plays Daisy. Obviously, the character details are kept under wraps for now, yet all promise to add more fun to the already wild show. It should be noted that Noah B. Taylor, who played Bruno, won’t be back.

In a statement, series creators Al Gough and Miles Miller shared, It's our dark delight to fling open Nevermore Academy's gates once more as we begin production on Season 3. We thank our invincible cast and crew for their continued commitment to doom and gloom. To the fans, we appreciate your patience and ravenous online commentary — your twisted theories have inspired nightmares. This season we welcome new students, new teachers, and excavate some long-rotting Addams Family secrets. Don't say you weren't warned."

Burton himself added, "I'm so excited to be back for Season 3 and it's great to be reunited with all of the original cast. The addition of some dear friends and past collaborators of mine — Winona, Eva, Chris, Noah — makes this season extra special. I feel very lucky."

With production underway, it’s likely the season won’t be hitting Netflix until sometime in 2027. But whenever it comes, the new additions will make this season of Wednesday even bigger!

The first two seasons of Wednesday are streaming now on Netflix.
