After a deadly and darkly hilarious journey across the Wasteland, we've arrived at the big finish for Fallout season 2. Across its first seven episodes, Fallout season 2 spun a web of compelling stories, from Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul's (Walton Goggins) quest to reach New Vegas, to Maximus' (Aaron Moten) defection from the Brotherhood of Steel, to Hank MacLean (Kyle McLaughlin) perfecting a mind control device and Norm (Moisés Arias) just trying to stay alive in the midst of a hostile group of management Vaultdwellers, there's been a lot to take in this season.

But all that ends tonight, when Prime Video drops the season finale and we find out how all these disparate stories end. We have a lot of questions that need to be answered in Episode 208. Here's hoping the show sticks the landing just like it did in season 1.

Let's go over everything you need to know to prepare for tonight's viewing party, including the episode's new release time that Prime Video announced last week.

When does the next episode of Fallout come out? Episode 8 release time

Fallout season 2 Episode 8 premieres on Prime Video on Tuesday, February 3rd at 6:00 p.m. PT / 9:00 p.m. ET. That's several hours earlier than its usual release time, which should make it a bit easier for those who don't want to stay up until the wee hours of the morning to set up their watch parties. So order a pizza and some Nuka Cola, and get ready to spend your evening in New Vegas!

Fallout season 2 Episode 8 runtime

As of this writing, the runtime for Fallout season 2 Episode 8 hasn't yet been revealed. However, we can make an educated guess based on the rest of the season. To date, the longest episode of Fallout season 2 is the premiere, which ran for 62 minutes. Every other episode of the season has been between 49 and 57 minutes. While it's been reported that the finale could be as long as 75 minutes, that hasn't been confirmed by any official sources and should be taken with a grain of salt. If I were a betting man — and you do want to be a gambler when in New Vegas — I'd guess that Fallout season 2 Episode 8 will run around an hour long, or just under.

What's going to happen in the Fallout season 2 finale?

Ah, isn't this the million dollar question? Fallout season 2 Episode 7 laid the groundwork for an exciting finale, and we're all dying to see how it plays out. Let's do a quick run through of all our hanging plot threads.

  • Lucy has just discovered that the severed head of U.S. Congresswoman Diane Welch (Martha Kelly) is helping power her father's mind control system. No doubt Lucy's role in the finale will revolve around this greater conflict with her father, and finding out how this 200+ year old politican found their head in such an inconvenient location.
  • The Ghoul used the cold fusion relic to power up Robert House's computer, which brought up a digital version of the genius inventor that should look plenty familiar to anyone who's played Fallout: New Vegas. It's going to be exciting listening to these two talk again for the first time in several hundred years, as The Ghoul tries to reunite with his family and help Lucy out of her predicament in the Vault below. I imagine we haven't seen the last of the Cooper Howard flashbacks either, after he gave over cold fusion to the President of the United States.
  • Maximus is in the middle of ol' rumble with a pack of Deathclaws, who just smashed his NCR power armor suit through the gate that was keeping them trapped in The Strip. Now they can rampage through Freeside, where the remaining population of New Vegas lives — unless Maximus can stop them.
  • Norm was captured by the management trainees from Vault 31, after they discovered he wasn't one of them. That's the same predicament Norm's been in for a few episodes now, so the finale has to tie this plotline up so that Norm can move on to whatever's next for him.
  • Steph (Annabel O'Hagan) was just revealed to be a 200 year old Canadian to the residents of Vault 32. We last saw her lock herself in the Overseers office, where she presumably has Hank's keepsake box and whatever secret it holds. However she gets out of that situation, I have a feeling it won't be good for the residents of Vault 32.
  • Betty (Leslie Uggams) seems to have finally secured water for Vault 33 by trading Hank's keepsake box to Steph. Will she still need to lay down the law with Reg's (Rodrigo Luzzi) In-Breeding Support Group?

There are a few other hanging plotlines that have been introduced this season, like the civil wars between factions of the Legion and the Brotherhood of Steel. But we haven't seen either of those factions in a minute, so it's anyone's guess whether they'll show up here in the season finale.
