Who is Teen from Agatha All Along? Teen's identity revealed

The simple answer is that Teen is actually William "Billy" Kaplan, aka Wiccan, the son of Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch. The long version is more comic book-y.

The latest episode of Agatha All Along, "Darkest Hour, Wake Thy Power," solved the biggest mystery that's been taunting Marvel fans since the show started: who is Teen, the Agatha Harkness fanboy played by Heartstopper's Joe Locke? Teen has some kind of curse placed on him that prevents him from revealing his identity to anyone. But Agatha seems to have figured it out: at the end of the episode, she icily whispers to him that he's a lot like his mother. Teen then uses his magic powers to throw Agatha, Jen and Lilia into a sucking swamp beside the witches' road, apparantly killing them. The last shot of the episode is of him glaring at the swamp while wearing a crown that bears a striking similarity to the one worn by the Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch, played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Elizabeth Olsen.

What does this mean? It means that Teen is the Scarlet Witch's son, known in Marvel comics as William "Billy" Kaplan, aka the superhero Wiccan. He has a comics backstory as crazy as they come. He and his brother Thomas are borne out of a wish made by Wanda Maximoff for a family, after she taps into a great source of magical energy. At this point, his name is William Maximoff. But William and Thomas are taken by the demon Mephisto (who's been mentioned in Agatha All Along), who absorbs the boys into himself, essentially wiping them from existance.

But also, somehow, William and Thomas Maximoff are reborn to completely different families as William "Billy" Kaplan and Thomas "Tommy" Shepherd. How does that happen? I don't know. Superhero comics are already confusing before they start messing with magic, and then they become impenetrable. Anyway, Billy grows up to the magic-themed superhero Wiccan.

The MCU version of Wiccan might dispense with some of this. We technically already met Billy and his brother in WandaVision, where they were magic-ed into existance as part of the alternate reality Wanda constructed to deal with her trauma. The boys disappeared when that reality collapsed at the end of the show. But Wanda found versions of them elsewhere in the multiverse in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so there are naturally occurring alternate realities out there where Billy exists. Maybe the Billy we're getting to know on Agatha All Along is from one of these. I'm betting he'll be Billy Maximoff, not Billy Kaplan, in the MCU.

How did he end up on the Witches' road with Agatha in this reality? What does he want? Who put that curse on him that keeps him from revealing his identity? Did he really just kill Agatha, Jen and Lilia? There are three more episodes to go in Agatha All Along, so tune in for answers. New episodes drop Wednesday nights on Disney+.
