Much has been made of the moment where Lena Headey’s face melts when she realizes what’s lying under the golden shroud behind Jaime. But my personal favorite moment is this shot, of her wild glee when she thinks the impossible has happened: she’s going to see her daughter again. (Also, this is the only scene filmed in Croatia all season, so far as we know. Wave goodbye to Old King’s Landing, you guys: we likely won’t see it again this year.

Contrast that wild smile with this shot of Cersei utterly defeated and resigned. All three of her children are going to die—there’s nothing she can do, except count the days from now until Tommen’s funeral.

Speaking of Tommen, the High Sparrow and his Good Cop routine going, trying to use the idea of Margaery cleaving to her husband instead of her brother in order to find a way to get her out of the dungeons before the people start to protest her imprisonment.

So many things were wrong with Dorne this week, but this image of Doran, who is gouty and wheelchair bound in the books, up and walking just took the cake for me. All of it was wrong. All of it.

Meanwhile, this gives new meaning to the pretty people doing a duck face look for the camera, does it not?

Over in Meereen, we may be focusing on Tyrion’s rich guy walk, but it’s those watching Tyrion and Varys walking from the shadows that I’m interested in. (Also, I love this shot of the main square in Peñíscola in Spain.)

As I am the sight of the red priest. The only red priest we’ve seen up until now was Thoros of Myr, and he wasn’t very Red Priest-looking. Whereas this guy actually looks to be of a piece with Melisandre, even moreso than the Red Priestess we saw in Volantis preaching the word of Dany last season.

This is a really well-done CGI and pyrotechnic shot. Too bad it’s in service of forcing the characters in Meereen to stay there for another whole season.
