Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “The Winds of Winter”
By Ani Bundel
Ka-boom?
I mean…this shot is blood art.
Also?
Ka-boom.
I love Jonathan Pryce’s face here as the Sept shakes from the fires down below.
And Margaery, who knows that’s it’s likely too late to avoid whatever is about to happen.
I love that the High Sparrow’s robes are blown about, similar to the ones on the statue above him.
Let’s just stare at the pretty wildfire for a minute, shall we?
Pretty. (I always was a pyro at heart.)
The show had a lot of fun with this bit—this shot of the Seven-Pointed Star window just before it blows out, for instance, is pretty cheeky.
The seven pillars of the Sept wobble and implode.
As the Sept goes down, the Red Keep looks on.
The show opened with the bells tolling. Now the bells are flying…
…and crashing, killing extras on the ground.
You think Cersei gives a damn about collateral damage?
Noap. Love that smiling into the wine glass. A toast to the fallen.
Hush now baby, baby, dont you cry.
Mother’s gonna make all your nightmares come true.
Mother’s gonna put all her fears into you.
Mother’s gonna keep you right here under her wing.
She wont let you fly, but she might let you sing.
Mama will keep baby cozy and warm.
Ooooh baby ooooh baby oooooh baby,
Of course mama’s gonna help to build the wall.
