Doctor Who: Matt Lucas and Karen Gillan Share Set Videos
By Leah Tedesco
Yesterday, both Matt Lucas and Karen Gillan shared videos from behind the scenes on the set of Doctor Who.
The end of last week, we shared an article containing a picture and a video featuring Pearl Mackie behind the scenes on the Doctor Who set at Cardiff University. Following that, a couple of big sets of location pictures were released, focusing largely on Mackie and Matt Lucas, respectively. Now, Lucas has shared a video of his own from his first day of filming for Series Ten.
In the video, he jokes about being “the other one” as opposed to his former Little Britain co-star David Walliams. Lucas expresses being “ecstatic” about “returning for more adventures,” and then candidly gives us a glimpse of Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie in the background. He hopes that all the “running around” will help keep him “fit” and “lose some weight,” which would earn the approval of his mother.
How he has a flesh and blood body again still remains a mystery. As much as I would like to know, I hope that the reason is not revealed until the Christmas special airs. The less that is revealed before an episode or season, the more exciting the viewing experience.

Speaking of recently posted videos from behind the scenes on the set of Doctor Who, we have a nostalgia-inducing one for you. Karen Gillan just found a video from her days on the program and shared it on her Instagram account. In it, she has her head resting on a table as Arthur Darvill, and an off-camera person who sounds most likely to be Matt Smith, serenade her with a narration of her actions. The song sounds like a traditional English Christmas hymn, but I am unable to identify it. Darvill could have just made up the tune on the spot, along with the lyrics. If you know what it is, drop us a line.
I wonder what episode they were working on.
