Rumors, rumors, rumors galore! Time to put them all together in one place so we can get our heads together!
It’s been three weeks since Doctor Who came back on television, and the rumors surrounding this season have been out of control. Here is a rumor roundup of everything that has been said these past three weeks.
The Vault Rumors:
Today, Moffat announced that we will see what’s inside the mysterious vault in the sixth episode, Extremis. Here’s everything we know about the information announced so far.
We’ve also speculated what could possibly be in the vault, everything from Missy, to John Simm’s Master, to the thirteenth doctor themselves. Read the possibilities of what we think could happen, especially knowing there’s been knocking, meaning something is most likely alive in there.
Regeneration Rumors:
It has been rumored for the past week that we’ll be seeing some old faces in the Christmas episode. The diner used for Clara’s TARDIS was asked to be used by the BBC in July. Here’s what we know about everyone who could possibly come back, seeing as it’s Moffat’s goodbye episode as well.
Moffat has also been reported as saying he doesn’t know the thirteenth Doctor yet, however as it also has been reported that the regeneration moment has already been shot, is this possible?
Casting Rumors:
Many names have been thrown around for the Doctor including Kris Marshall for the Doctor and Steven Redgrave for a future role (though we don’t know what that is, and it could be the Doctor himself.)
I also personally threw around Georgia Moffett’s character The Doctor’s Daughter as an idea, but that is not an official rumor.
What is true is Game of Thrones actress Samantha Spiro announcing she will be appearing this season on Doctor Who, despite Moffat giving no evidence of it in the episode guide. We currently don’t know what, who, or when she’ll be in the show.
David Bradley, a Harry Potter and Game of Thrones alum has also been announced as been cast and shot an episode with Capaldi as the First doctor. When asked about his return, he said “You didn’t hear it from me.”
