Doctor Who Rumor: Russell T. Davies knows who the Doctor is

Well, even if BBC is waiting til the eleventh hour to tell us, people are starting to find out who the thirteenth doctor will be. The first person to claims to know who it is who’s not part of the production? Russell T. Davies.

We all know Russell T. Davies as the man who wrote series 1-4 of Doctor Who, with the ninth and tenth Doctor. At the LGBT awards next to Andy West, he teased that he does, in fact, know who the thirteenth doctor is.

Davies is the first person who’s not in the production of Doctor Who currently who knows who it is. He says that he’s under strict orders from the BBC not to say anything, and fans will find out “soon”.

This comes as a bit of surprise, with it taking Moffat awhile to say that he knew who it was, at one point going so far as saying that Chibnall hadn’t told him, and he didn’t want to be part of the casting. He now is working with the new showrunner for what he and Capaldi are calling a “brand new regeneration”.

Will we ever know?

I’m honestly starting to ask that myself. Next series of Doctor Who is rumored to air next fall, but we should have at least a glimpse by Christmas…or could it be sooner? We speculated a few days ago that the Doctor’s new and improved regeneration might include a new timing, within the first 12 episodes of the season – before the Christmas episode.

If that’s true, will we get the big reveal like we did with Capaldi? Or will we get the reveal as it happens – during Doctor Who itself? While it would be new to not announce the Doctor before he appeared, with ratings shaky this season, having people tune into find out would definitely be a ratings draw!
