Charlotte Hale isn’t beloved by Westworld fans, but could she be a standout character of Season 2?

Let’s face it, Charlotte Hale wasn’t the best received character in Westworld Season 1. Tessa Thompson is a terrific actress, but her character was set up to be unlikable. As the audience, we were pushed to cheer for Ford and the hosts. So, anyone that opposed them was bound to be seen as the enemy. The truth is, Charlotte Hale is anything but a villain.

For the most part, she’s a strong and confident business woman, but we only saw that side of her. As far as characters go, she was fairly one-dimensional. We didn’t get to really see her as a human being, but that was by design. One of Westworld Season 1’s main objectives was making the hosts seem move human than the actual humans. They succeeded, however, character’s like Charlotte, Theresa and Lee suffered because of it.

Heading into Westworld Season 2, the landscape of the show has changed significantly. The hosts have control of the park and the humans are on the run. Now that the tide has turned in the hosts favor, the humans could be portrayed in a different light. It’s a fair bet considering the stakes, and if it does, we could see another side of the previously unlikable characters. Charlotte Hale, in particular, could be a standout of Westworld Season 2.

Could Charlotte Hale Be A Standout Character In Westworld Season 2?

As we previously stated, Tessa Thompson is a fantastic actress. She was praised for her breakout role in

Thor: Ragnarok

last year and will soon be a bigger part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With her star on the rise, it would be foolish if

Westworld

didn’t capitalize on her success. It wouldn’t even take much for the audience to connect with her character.

They only have to give her a couple of humanizing moments and Charlotte Hale could become a highlight of the show. Sure, the hosts are still the protagonist of the show, but it would give Westworld even more depth. Given Thompson’s acting prowess, she is more than capable of stealing the show. This idea might sound like heresy for fans who adore the show’s main characters, but stranger things have happened.

There are bound to be breakout performances in Westworld Season 2, and for our money, Tessa Thompson is a solid bet. It may be a tall order given the incredible cast they have assembled, but it’s a strong possibility. Hopefully, we will learn more about Westworld Season 2 and more information about Tessa Thompson’s role moving forward.

We still have a few months until Westworld Season 2 drops. Until then, we will continue to speculate on anything and everything Westworld.
