Good news Lord of the Rings fans: it looks like Gandalf, Frodo, Aragorn and all the rest are heading to Netflix…in the UK. Showing inventive use of emojis, Netflix UK and Ireland made the announcement via Twitter:

Fellowship of the Ring is the hardest one to depict with emojis, but you get the idea. It’s all happening on November 1.

For now, it appears that the trilogy will only be available to fans in the United Kingdom and Ireland, but if Samwise Gamgee taught us anything, it’s to never give up hope. Currently, only the first film of the trilogy is available to fans in the US, but perhaps we’ll get the The Two Towers and The Return of the King in the near future. Please?

Netflix UK & Ireland‏ also put out a promo video touting their November offerings, but only listed Fellowship as dropping on November 1, with no mention of Towers or Return. We choose to believe the emojis because it makes us happier.

Peter Jackson’s trilogy grossed nearly 3 billion dollars and won 17 Academy Awards, including a  Best Picture win for Return of the KingThe Lord of the Rings has returned to the news of late, with Amazon developing a television series (sans Jackson) based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s expanded work. That series is rumored to focus on the adventures of a Young Aragorn, although nothing is official as of yet.

And if that doesn’t excite you, there’s always a CGI remake of Fellowship starring mice. Because why not?
