Game of Thones: Stop the Leaks and No More Trailers, Please!

Hey, HBO! Stop giving us trailers, please. We don’t need to be sold on Game of Thrones anymore. No one is going to watch the most recent trailer that is full of little easter eggs (if you can even call these blatantly obvious things easter eggs) and say “Oh damn! I guess now is a great time to finally jump into this Game of Thrones thing! I’ll start season one as soon as I finish Breaking Bad!”

At least two of the teasers HBO has dropped so far seem to be more “setting the mood” type trailers as opposed to new footage, but for crying out loud we don’t need any more trailers or featurettes or anything. We’re all on board, lets save it for the season.

HBO isn’t the only company that’s doing too much of this. Marvel just dropped a third Avengers: Endgame trailer, but for what purpose I cannot say. I guess because it coincided with the beginning of ticket pre-sales? You can’t argue too much with the strategy since pre-sales for Endgame broke ticket selling websites and destroyed previous sales records.

Except I CAN argue with the results, because they would have broken record anyway. Just like with Game of Thrones, nobody is watching that third Endgame trailer and is going to suddenly decide to start watching the MCU movies in order.

I was surprised with Marvel even released a trailer for Endgame as early as they did. They should have just done one big three-minute trailer the day before pre-sale tickets went up and been done with it. Just like Game of Thrones should have probably just done one trailer and one teaser, especially since HBO is a paid service and people were already on board with the channel to make sure they got to see Thrones.

I know this sounds crazy, complaining about too much content for these super popular things. Everyone was dying for a trailer for both Thrones and Endgame, but now we’re swimming in them. Just leave it alone, guys. Part of the fun is the mystery.

So no more leaks. No more trailers. No more content. I’m here for fan theories, fan discussion, and memes about Ant-Man and Thanos. Oh, and for David Harris to yell more about Ghost not being in the trailers.
