Twelve more Game of Thrones sequel series we’d love to see
We may never stop wanting to see a Game of Thrones sequel series. Until we get one for real, let’s use our imaginations. Here we go.
Game of Thrones is over; it feels like it all ended both yesterday and five years ago. As a way to grapple with the pain of the show’s departure, we offered up a fun list of 12 sequel/spin off ideas, just in case anyone at HBO was listening. Now that we’ve had some time to ruminate over the possibilities, we’ve got a dozen more titillating sequel suggestions.
We may never get over the desire to see a Thrones sequel, to be able to spend more time with our beloved characters as their lives progress beyond what happened in the series finale. According to HBO, no sequels are forthcoming (a prequel, on the other hand, is well on the way), but that doesn’t mean we can’t entertain fantasies of what might have been. We gotta do something while we wait for George R. R. Martin to finish The Winds of Winter. Let’s go for it!
Breaking Bronn
Bronn didn’t have a lot to do in season 8, but that doesn’t mean his character isn’t ripe for more action! The former sellsword may think he’s gonna be satisfied with a lordship, tons of gold and a seat on Bran’s Small Council, but we all know he’ll screw that up in short order. So what fate awaits Ser Bronn of the Blackwater? I have an idea.
As the new power brokers dig into the battle-scarred lands of Westeros, civil war and strife return despite the best efforts of Tyrion and the victors who now inhabit King’s Landing. Bronn is caught stealing from the treasury and Tyrion must send him into exile, along with Podrick Payne, Bronn’s hapless accessory. Broke and desperate, Bronn forms a partnership with a mysterious alchemist who has developed the most powerful moonshine known to the world, a brain-storming alcohol he calls “Wildfire Whisky.”
Bronn and Pod embark on a wild journey across Westeros and Essos, selling the hallucinatory spirit by the keg. But there are problems: the alchemist, a man who enjoys sampling his own wares, is about as reliable as a fox guarding a hen house; the whisky concoction is so powerful and violence-inducing that it is declared illegal, so Bronn and company are constantly dodging the law, bounty hunters and bandits wanting to steal their secret formula.
