Five things we want to see in The Mandalorian season 2

The Darksaber and the Great Purge

Last season ended with the big reveal of Moff Gideon wielding the Darksaber. This black-bladed lightsaber is a unique weapon important to Mandalorian culture. It was created by Tarre Vizsla, the first Mandalorian to join the Jedi Order. It was first introduced in the Cartoon Network series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and was last seen in Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels, after Sabine Wren gave it to Bo-Katan Kryze.

With the Darksaber in Gideon’s possession, it raises some questions and concerns. How did Bo Katan lose the Darksaber? Did Gideon defeat and kill her during the Great Purge? How will Mando react to Gideon possessing the ancient Mandalorian weapon?

Along with this, we want to see what went down on Mandalore during the Great Purge. This event, which was said to have killed a large portion of the Mandalorian people, was often hinted at throughout season 1. Maybe we can get a flashback of Gideon and Bo-Katan squaring off. If we’re lucky, she’s still alive and might even wield the Darksaber again.

Whatever happens, we’re excited to get some answers. Katee Sackhoff, who voiced Bo-Katan in Rebels, will appear as the character in the flesh in season 2.
