The Mandalorian chapter 15 “The Believer”

Boba will die, and Mando will inherit the Slave 1

After “Chapter 14: The Tragedy,” Mando needs a new ship, since Moff Gideon’s cruiser destroyed his Razor Crest. Mando allied himself with Boba Fett and has been getting from planet to planet on the Slave 1. After Grogu’s rescue, there will be no reason for Boba to stick around, which will leave Mando with no ship yet again.

It’s possible that Boba will perish during the fight against Moff Gideon, and Mando will take the Slave 1. Now we know what you’re thinking: we just got Boba back, and we love seeing him kick Stormtrooper butt. But Boba has kind of served his purpose. We finally learned his fate after his ambiguous exit in Return of the Jedi, and more importantly, we got to see Boba’s full potential as an unstoppable bounty hunter.

Now, do we want to see Boba go so soon? No, but to be honest, the more we see and learn about Boba, the less cool he becomes. And if you think about it, if Boba were to give Mando the Slave 1, then we would have come full circle, as The Mandalorian would have never existed with Boba Fett. Mando taking the iconic ship and carrying out Boba’s legacy would be very fitting.

Plus, we might see more Boba in the future! Word is that Temuera Morrison, who plays Boba Fett, may appear in Disney’s upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi mini-series. Does this mean that he’s returning as Boba? Not necessarily. He could always reprise his role as Commander Cody or bring Captain Rex from The Clone Wars, this time in live-action. And Disney could always give him a miniseries of his own.

Basically, whatever happens to him in the finale, we doubt we’ve seen the last of Boba Fett.
