Steve Rogers will return
This one might be a long shot, especially after Chris Evans confirmed he wouldn’t be returning to the MCU, but since when have we trusted what these actors say about cameo appearances? They have to keep secrets all the time, or else Kevin Feige will smite them where they stand.
In all seriousness, the finale would be the perfect time to bring back Steve Rogers. After Sam finally dons the Captain America suit and shield, Steve could show up to say, “I told you so.” They could joke a bit, have a heart to heart, and we can say goodbye to Steve again. This would undercut the moment they had in Avengers: Endgame, but it would still be great to see Steve one more time.
There have been a few references to Steve’s whereabouts throughout the show. While they were training, Sam and Bucky talked about Steve like he was really gone, which is unfortunate since they clearly loved and respected their friend and had had a difficult time with his decision to stay in the past.
But there’s also a moment in the first episode where Joaquin mentioned that people on the internet were theorizing the former Captain America was on a moon base. It sounds like WandaVision Memphisto theorists exist in the MCU proper.
It was a strange line to include in the show…unless it was put there to set up a cameo from Chris Evans later in the series. Hopefully, we’ll see the first Avenger again in the finale, moon base or no.
