We’ve only got two more episodes left of The Last of Us season 1, and from the way the previous episodes have gone, we can probably expect a lot of violence and tears ahead. Fans of the video game are no doubt anticipating some of the big moments to come in the final two episodes. Episode 8, “When We Are in Need,” will introduce us to a new batch of characters yet again.
Ellie (Bella Ramsey) has stitched up Joel (Pedro Pascal) and he looks like he’ll survive, but he’s still on the mend and she’s going to have to fend for herself. How will she do? We’ll find out Sunday night.
Ramsey has been giving a fantastic performance as Ellie and is doing a great job carrying the show now that Pascal’s Joel is injured. I already cannot wait for the second season of The Last of Us! While we count down until the next episode to premiere on HBO and HBO Max this weekend, take a look at the trailer for “When We Are in Need” below:
The Young Pope actor Scott Shepherd will play a preacher named David who Ellie meets in The Last of Us Episode 8, while video game fans will certainly recognize Troy Baker’s voice, who portrays a character called James. Baker is best known for voicing Joel in The Last of Us game. Sounds like he won’t have that signature Texan accent in the episode, though.
The Last of Us Episode 8 run time
Wondering how long The Last of Us will run this week? Now that we’re down to the final two episodes of the season, I was secretly hoping they’d be supersized. However, that’s not the case for Episode 8, at least. According to HBO’s schedule, “When We Are in Need” is exactly one hour long. You can catch it on HBO at 9:00 p.m. EST this Sunday, March 5. If you miss that showing, an encore will play right after at 10:00 p.m. EST, followed by a new episode of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.
If you’re streaming the new episode of The Last of Us, as many do, you can do so starting this Sunday night at 9:00 p.m. EST on HBO Max, and it’ll be available on the platform to watch anytime after.
We’re almost at the finish line for The Last of Us season 1 now! Fingers crossed these final two episodes are epic.
