We now know that the second season of HBO's Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon is coming out on HBO and Max in June, just a few months away. Given that the show is still picking up reshoots, that sounds like a quick turnaround, but with the bulk of filming in the can, I think they'll be ready. HBO was confident enough to release a teaser trailer months ago, and new episodes come out at a rate of one per week, so they're in a good place.

It sounds like HBO will soon be turning up the hype. Multiple sources, including the Wake the Dragon and Redanian Intelligence Twitter accounts, have reported that Entertainment Weekly recently shot a photo spread about the series, which is generally done for a big feature report. The theme of the photoshoot may be "Chess," which is a little obvious for a show about power players trying to scheme their way to the top, but it works.

It's unclear when this feature will run, but we'd expect it to come out fairly soon. And where there's a magazine feature, we can probably expect a proper trailer to follow, together with a final, official release date. We're about to be bombarded with promo material for House of the Dragon season 2, and after waiting almost two since season 1, I'd say it's about time.

Next. House of the Dragon. SPOILER returning in House of the Dragon season 2? Here's the evidence. dark
