Check out first-look images of Outlander season 7 part 2 AND prequel show Blood of My Blood
Hey, Outlander fans. Do we have a treat for you! Starz has been gracious enough to finally give us first-looks at not just Outlander season 7 part 2, but the prequel series Blood of My Blood as well. A double treat!
The flagship series is set to return Friday, November 22 while Outlander: Blood of My Blood is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2025. And as a reminder, work on the eighth and final season is currently underway. So while it's bittersweet to say goodbye, we still have plenty of content coming up in the historical drama's universe. And right now, that includes some first-look images from both shows. Check them out below!
Outlander season 7 part 2 first-look photos
Let's start with Jamie and Claire, because no offense to anyone else, that's who we really care about the most. Am I right, or am I right? As seen in the image below, the Highlander and his Sassenach are cuddling up the way they always do. I'm assuming (and hoping) they're in Lallybroch.
If you remember, by the end of season 7 part 1, the Frasers, with Young Ian tagging along, finally made it back to their homeland after years of being away. Starz has shared the cast list for the back half of season 7, which includes Steven Cree as Ian and Kristin Atherton as Jenny. The actress replaced Laura Donnelly, who originated the role.
And I mean, there's nowhere else they'd stay except for Lallybroch. While there are no photos of Jenny yet, best buds Jamie and Ian are reunited. And I'm sure it feels so good! The two friends haven't seen each other since season 3 when Ian came looking for Young Ian, who had run away to be with his uncle. Hopefully things aren't as tense now.
Speaking of Mr. Young Ian, he certainly looks tense in what could possibly be the Lallybroch stables. Do they have stables? I would assume so. Anyway, this poor family just can't get a break. Can't it just be a happy reunion? That's usually not in the cards for the Frasers.
A curious reunion is afoot between Claire and Lord John Grey. Because they're in a room, it's hard to tell whether Lord John Grey is in Scotland, or perhaps Jamie and Claire do make it back to America. I'm kind of hoping once they're in Scotland they stay in Scotland. I miss seeing the Frasers there! Though wherever they are reunited, it usually isn't a good sign that Lord John is there. Though the character himself is fantastic!
Finally, we have new images of Brianna and Roger. In two different time periods, of course. In the midseason finale, Rob Cameron kidnapped Jemmy, for reasons we don't know yet, and took him through the Stones. The MacKenzies decided Roger and Buck would go back in time to try and find them, while Bree stays in the 1980s.
It looks like Brianna is speaking with the police. Perhaps while Roger and Buck are physically trying to find Jemmy, she can do something herself in their time. He does have a sister. Maybe she knows something? There's definitely some investigating that needs to happen. The second photo is of Roger in what looks like a camp he made for himself as he searches for his son. I think this plot point is really interesting and I'm looking forward to it!
A first-look at Jamie and Claire's parents in Outlander: Blood of My Blood
While Claire served in World War II, her parents Julia and Henry also joined the army, but in World War I. Per Starz, the prequel series is going to tell the love story of both Julia and Henry as well as Jamie's parents Ellen and Brian. Because Claire's parents died when she was so young, she doesn't have many memories of them. So our knowledge as viewers of Julia and Henry is pretty limited. So I'm really curious to learn more about them soon!
The other couple Blood of My Blood will focus on is Brian and Ellen. And ngl, I can already see that I'm going to be shipping these two just a little more than Henry and Ellen. Sorry! But I think it's the fact that it's another couple in the Scottish Highlands that has my attention.
According to the Starz synopsis, the prequel series is about "two parallel love stories set in two different time periods." I wonder if that means there's going to be more similarities between them than we thought. Perhaps it's something that points to just how destined Jamie and Claire were for each other. They are soulmates after all. No argument there!
Outlander season 7 part 2 premieres Friday, November 22, followed by Blood of My Blood sometime in 2025 on Starz.
