If your watchlist is feeling a little empty, September 2025 is about to fix that in the best way possible. Netflix will be rolling out an exciting lineup of sci-fi and fantasy titles in the next month, including the highly anticipated Wednesday season 2 part 2, which will see viewers return to Nevermore Academy for more of Wednesday’s delightfully dark adventures.

But that's not all! You can expect many more sci-fi/fantasy shows and movies to make their way to the streaming platform in September. Don't worry! We've put together a list of some of the best and most binge-worthy ones that are set to hit Netflix soon and shared them right below. That way, you can already start planning your ultimate streaming marathon.

Orphan Black

  • Netflix release date: Sept. 1

If you missed the hype around Orphan Black when it was airing on BBC America back in 2013 to 2017, you'll soon have the chance to catch up on this brilliantly twisted, binge-worthy sci-fi show when it lands on Netflix on the first day of September. Yes, you read that right! All five seasons of Orphan Black are set to drop on the streaming platform next month, so you might want to make sure your schedule is wide open. I promise that once you start watching, it'll be nearly impossible to stop.

Imagine finding out that there are dozens of people who look exactly like you, but each one has a totally different life, personality, and set of drama. That’s the world of Orphan Black. When Sarah Manning witnesses a woman identical to her commit suicide, she assumes her identity, only to soon discover she’s part of a wild clone conspiracy full of secrets.

Tatiana Maslany stars in the leading role of Sarah, and also plays multiple other clones in the series. Dylan Bruce, Jordan Gavaris. Kevin Hanchard, Michael Mando, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Evelyne Brochu, Ari Millen, and Kristian Bruun also make up the cast.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial

  • Netflix release date: Sept. 1

If you've never watched E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, are you really a science fiction fan? Essentially, it's like the starter pack for when you first start watching sci-fi content. It stars a young Henry Thomas as Elliott, a curious and adventurous boy who discovers a stranded alien whom he names E.T. As Elliott and his siblings try to find a way to get the lovable alien back to his home, they must also keep E.T. safe from government agents.

Also in the sci-fi movie's cast are Dee Wallace, Robert MacNaughton, Drew Barrymore, and others. Like Orphan Black, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial will not remain on Netflix forever since it's a movie that the streaming giant has licensed. That said, it's important to watch it as soon as possible.

Wednesday season 2 part 2

  • Netflix release date: Sept. 3

When Wednesday season 2 was released on Netflix on Aug. 6, some viewers were confused to see that there were only four episodes. That's because the streaming giant decided to split the season into two parts, with the second half dropping later in September. You can expect the remaining four episodes to make their way to Netflix at the top of next month.

Without going too much into detail about what happened in the first batch of episodes, just in case you haven't watched it yet, part 1 left Wednesday in a very bad place after encountering the Hyde/Tyler. It also saw the death of a major character. Wednesday season 2 part 2 will pick up where the first half left off.

Wednesday is determined more than ever to take down the Hyde/Tyler and prevent Enid's impending doom. If you haven't checked out the part 2 trailer yet, it teases that we'll see the return of a character who was believed to be dead. Also, fans who've been waiting for Lady Gaga to make an appearance in the fantasy series can expect to see her finally.

Jenna Ortega returns as Wednesday Addams. Other returning actors include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and many others. A Wednesday season 3 has already been confirmed.

Alice in Borderland season 3

  • Netflix release date: Sept. 25

As the Alice in Borderland season 2 finale was reaching its end, it looked like the sci-fi thriller series had tied up all its high-stakes games and cliffhangers. But nope! In the very last minute of the second season, a stack of playing cards is shown sitting on a table before they start flying away in the wind. Only one card remains. The Joker card! At that point, we knew there was a good chance that a third season would happen. We just needed that confirmation, which would eventually come in September 2023.

Alice in Borderland season 3 will see the return of Kento Yamazaki as Arisu. After his wife Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) is abducted and left unconscious, Arisu must dive back into the deadly world of Borderland, confronting new challenges, facing the mysterious Joker stage, and teaming up with new allies in a desperate attempt to return to their original world.
