Interview With The Vampire and The Vampire Lestat

One of the strongest recommendations for Outlander fans is Interview With The Vampire and its anticipated season 3, rebranded as The Vampire Lestat. Based on the beloved novels by Anne Rice, the series premiered in 2022, with the next chapter arriving June 7 on AMC+.

Developed by showrunner Rolin Jones, the gothic drama stars Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid as the titular vampires Louis de Pointe du Lac and Lestat de Lioncourt, Eric Bogosian as the interviewer Daniel Molloy, and Assad Zaman as the vampire Armand. The story follows Louis as he recounts his passionate, immortal, and yes, toxic relationship with Lestat across centuries.

For Outlander fans, the appeal is obvious. Like Claire and Jamie, Louis and Lestat share a love story that spans enormous emotional and historical distances. The series is lushly produced, emotionally intense, and deeply character-driven. It explores themes of immortality, identity, trauma, and longing in ways that feel similar to Outlander’s central themes of enduring love and sacrifice. The chemistry between the leads is simply electric, in a way that will feel instantly familiar.

House of the Dragon

Another perfect companion series is House of the Dragon, streaming on HBO Max since 2022 and with its third season premiering June 21. Loosely based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series has a stellar cast, with talented actors like Emma D'Arcy, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Rhys Ifans. Set nearly 200 years before Game of Thrones, the show chronicles the civil war within House Targaryen known as the Dance of the Dragons.

While House of the Dragon is heavier on fantasy warfare than romance, it shares Outlander’s fascination with political power, dynastic conflict, and family loyalty. Fans who enjoy the Jacobite politics and clan rivalries of Outlander and Blood of My Blood will appreciate the brutal war for the throne of the Seven Kingdoms.

The emotional stakes are just as high, with betrayals, forbidden relationships, and devastating personal sacrifices driving the story forward. Like Outlander, the series thrives because viewers become deeply invested in flawed, grayish characters struggling against history and their own destiny.

The Other Bennet Sister

If you love literary romance and sharp female-centered storytelling, The Other Bennet Sister is made just for you. The series comes from producer and showrunner Sarah Quintrell and it premiered in March 2026 on BBC One and BritBox. Based on the novel by Janice Hadlow, the adaptation reimagines Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice from the perspective of Mary Bennet, the often-overlooked middle sister.

This series appeals strongly to Outlander fans since it combines period drama with self-actualization. Much like Claire Fraser, Mary Bennet is a woman navigating societal expectations while trying to define herself on her own terms.

Fans who adore the costumes, yearning, and social dynamics of Outlander’s 18th-century Scotland will likely fall hard for this more intimate but equally romantic 19th-century England. There’s also the promise of a rich ensemble cast and the kind of slow-burning storytelling that period-drama fans often appreciate.

My Lady Jane

A more playful but surprisingly emotional recommendation is My Lady Jane, which premiered on Prime Video in 2024. Created by showrunners Gemma Burgess and Meredith Glynn, the fantasy-romance stars Emily Bader as Lady Jane Grey and Edward Bluemel as Guildford Dudley. The show offers an alternate-history retelling of Tudor England in which political conspiracies collide with magical shapeshifters and humor.

At first glance, My Lady Jane may seem much lighter than Outlander, but the similarities quickly emerge. The series blends historical settings with fantasy elements, a forbidden romance, and dangerous political intrigue.

It also centers a fiercely intelligent heroine who refuses to be controlled by both the expectations of her time and the (supposedly) tragic undoing. Fans of Claire’s wit and resilience will likely enjoy Jane’s rebellious spirit, while the romance delivers the kind of emotional tension and chemistry that makes you binge-watch late into the night.

A Discovery of Witches

Another essential watch is A Discovery of Witches, which aired from 2018 to 2022 on Sky. Based on the bestselling All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness, the series was developed by Kate Brooke and stars Teresa Palmer as historian and reluctant witch Diana Bishop alongside Matthew Goode as vampire geneticist Matthew Clairmont.

The story follows Diana as she discovers a magical manuscript that plunges her into a dangerous supernatural conflict involving witches, vampires, and demons. Along the way, she and Matthew fall into an epic romance that transcends time and species.

For Outlander fans, this series may feel like the closest spiritual cousin. It combines time travel, forbidden love, fantasy mythology, and scholarly intrigue with gorgeous European settings and emotional performances. Like Claire and Jamie, Diana and Matthew must constantly fight external forces determined to keep them apart.

Bonus: rewatch Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 1–duh!

Finally, there is one obvious recommendation that no Outlander fan should ignore: rewatching season 1 of Outlander: Blood of My Blood on Starz. Sometimes the best cure for an Outlander obsession is simply diving back into the world itself.

While we don’t have a premiere date for Outlander: Blood of My Blood season 2, we do know it’s coming sometime in fall 2026. Let the rewatch begin!
