Earlier this week, Prime Video dropped a full-length trailer for the third season of The Wheel of Time, coming up on March. We've been cheerleading this show since it began, so we were happy to break the trailer down in detail on the latest episode of Take the Black, our weekly chat show where we discuss all things sci-fi, fantasy, movies, TV and books. Check it out below! And skip to the 6:30 mark if you want to get straight into The Wheel of Time stuff:
There's a ton to dissect in this trailer. Where are Rand, Moiraine, Nynaeve, Perrin, Egwene and the rest of the characters going in this new seasons? This new season will adapt The Shadow Rising, one of the most popular books from Robert Jordan's The Wheel of Time book series. Do we see anything in the trailer drawn directly from the book, and do any differences stand out? Is that "Time Time Time" song written for the series? The answer to that one is no; we thank the commenters for pointing that one out!
We talk about a few other things besides The Wheel of Time, even though that's our main focus this week. It looks like production on the third season of House of the Dragon is ramping up something fierce. We talk some about the most interesting episode of Severance so far this season, and explain why we're not quite as impressed with it as a lot of fans seem to be. And then there's the WiC News Lightning Round, where we give our 20-second takes on a bunch of other stories we didn't have time for elsewhere.
