Since the first season of Fallout turned out to be a massive success among casual viewers and longtime fans alike, Amazon Prime Video is ready to hype up the sophomore season. The excitement spiked when the teaser trailer announced that new episodes would be released on Dec. 17.
The teaser only shows a little bit of what's to come, but it is more than enough to speculate that it's going to be awesome! However, the trailer is not the only thing keeping us excited.
Walton Goggins on the Emmys red carpet
On Sunday, Walton Goggins, who plays The Ghoul in Fallout, was interviewed by MTV during the 2025 Emmys red carpet event. During the interview, when he was asked about the work he had done this time around for Fallout, Walton made comments about how much "more" this next season will have.
"It goes to places I didn't anticipate," he said. "It's good. I'm proud of it, and I'm proud that so many people are behind the camera and what they've put into it. So, I can't wait for you to see it. I hope you like it."
The fact that Fallout is going in new directions in season 2 isn't too surprising, as the show has already proven that it can manage the same kind of wacky twists and dark turns that the video games are known for. Getting Goggins's seal of approval proves that all the hype for the show is well warranted.
Goggins's latest comments echo previous teases he's shared, telling Deadline in February that the second season “blows [season 1] out of the water.”
“It’s really gonna be something. I can’t wait for people to see it,” he added at the time.
What to expect from season 2
Based on the teaser trailer and the tidbits we have gotten from Goggins, we can safely say that the narrative going forward will be far more grand and impactful for the Fallout universe.
The figurative bombshells that were dropped in the season finale will likely be explored in further detail, derailing Lucy's feelings for her father and uncovering more of The Ghoul's past.
We will also discover what the Brotherhood of Steel has in store for the wasteland and what part Maximus will play in it. It would be cool if we got to see more of this faction's philosophy and how much it differs from the other Brotherhood chapters in the lore. Either way, this season is going to be quite the ride, and I am excited to see where it goes!
Don’t miss Fallout season 2, premiering on Dec. 17 on Amazon Prime Video. Episodes will release weekly this time around.
