Fourth Wing fans are convinced a major update on Prime Video's upcoming fantasy TV series based on Rebecca Yarros' Empyrean series is right around the corner, and they might be right.
As we move closer to July 15, which is Conscription Day in Fourth Wing, fans have picked up on some potential hints Yarros has been leaving behind on Instagram.
Fans think the Fourth Wing TV series cast could be announced on July 15
The idea, as of July 10, is that we're going to learn the main cast of Prime Video's Fourth Wing TV series. There hasn't been any official confirmation yet, but there's a lot of smoke for there not to be dragonfire, you know?
Obviously, Prime Video confirmed the series in May, but since then, it's been all about casting. There's been so much chatter about who is going to star as Violet and Xaden Riorson, but there have been rumors about a ton of other key characters, too.
Romantasyhaus on Instragram put together a great breakdown on all the hints, but I'll share some of the big takeaways.
Basically, it all started when Yarros added a black and white profile picture on Instagram. Fans noticed that many of the actors and actresses rumored to be in contention to play major roles in the series also did the same.
Here's the list of those stars who followed Yarros' lead on social media:
- Inde Navarrette
- Charles Melton
- Michael B. Jordan, who is also an executive producer
- Mackenzie Foy
- Danny Griffin
- Joy Sunday
- Belmont Cameli
- Michael Bradway
- Michael Cimino
- Ariyan Akaltun
- Katie Douglas
It should be noted that some fans have mentioned that a few of these celebs already had black-and-white profile pics. Also, Josh Heuston, who has been linked to the Xaden role, did not change his profile picture.
Then, Yarros shared a "Happy birthday, Violet" message on Instagram on July 3. Then, she included 12 blank spots on her notebook. July 3 is 12 days before July 15.
Then, on July 9, six days before July 15, Yarros shared another Instagram post with six black-and-white puzzle pieces. It's part of an Empyrean puzzle, but why six pieces? Why not just post the full puzzle, which is in color if you click the arrow button? It's all peculiar if you ask me.
Now, I'm no conspiracy theorist, but it sure seems like something is coming on July 15 from or associated with Yarros.

Why would the Fourth Wing TV series cast be announced on July 15?
July 15 is a big day in the Fourth Wing book and The Empyrean series, so of course, it's a big day for Fourth Wing fans.
That's the date of Conscription Day in Yarros' series. In Fourth Wing, it's also the day we get to meet Violet Sorrengail as she walks the parapet to become a new cadet for the Riders Quadrant. In other words, it's the day Violet begins her official journey to become a dragonrider.
It would be very fitting for Violet and some of the other key cast to be announced on Conscription Day. We already know that the show is in pre-production, which means they are probably writing the first season, figuring out all the production details, and getting started on bringing these massive dragons to life.
The next step before production begins is getting all the stars of the series lined up, blocking time on their busy schedules, and getting things ready to go.
It's hard to say if this cast reveal is actually going to happen on July 15, but that's what the fans are starting to think.
It might be a little bit early for a casting update. We just learned that casting is officially underway. Do they already have it done? That would be quite the surprise if they were able to keep it secret for so long.
Another Emyprean update could be revealed on July 15
Of course, it could be another Fourth Wing-associated update, too, that gets revealed on July 15. The Fourth Wing TV series is the biggest thing happening in the world of Fourth Wing right now, but fans are also patiently waiting for the fourth book in the Empyrean series.
We still don't know the title of the fourth book of the Empyrean series, which obviously means we haven't seen the cover yet either. We could be learning the title and seeing the artwork on July 15.
Yarros is also releasing a new Empyrean book on Sept. 29, 2026. It's not the fourth book of the series, though. It's a novella, and it's available for pre-order right now. We don't have a title or a cover for that either.
It wouldn't be out of the question to get the release date announcement or a look at the new novella on July 15. I could definitely see that being the big announcement on Conscription Day.
That's almost more likely. We know Yarros revealed we're probably going to be waiting until 2027 for the new book, but usually, we learn the release date for books like this at least a few months in advance. We might be a little early, but it's possible that could be a really special way to get the fans hyped for the next book. Or, it could be something for the novella that's coming this fall.
Whatever it is, we'll be waiting and ready for whatever surprise Yarros (and possibly Prime Video) have in store for Conscription Day. Stay tuned!
