as Daenerys Targaryen
Character Overview: Daenerys is an exiled princess, sister to Viserys, and one of the last surviving members of House Targaryen, the former rulers of Westeros. Nicknamed “Stormborn” for the brutal weather conditions on the day she was born, the child Daenerys was meek and timid with little self-confidence and constant fear of her brother, who was her only guardian, but who was prone to violent mood swings and violence (what he called “waking the dragon”). Marriage to Khal Drogo empowers her to begin overcoming these flaws as she learns to be the queen she was always taught she was destined to be. –A Wiki of Ice and Fire
Recent Events: Initially married to Khal Drogo of the Dothraki by her brother in exchange for an army capable of reconquering Westeros, Daenerys matures as Drogo’s “khaleesi” before the tragic deaths of both her brother and her husband force her to fight for her life by becoming leader of Drogo’s remaining khalasar. After dealing with unending political machinations in the city of Qarth, Daenerys began a conquest of her own: the Essos cities of Astapor, Yunkai, and Meereen all fall to her, thanks in part to an army of born-and-bred soldiers called the Unsullied, whom she acquires in Astapor. Realizing her own inexperience in ruling, Daenerys settles into Meereen in order to learn the difference between winning a city and ruling one.
