    - Cersei slapping Tyrion
    - Tyrion slapping Joffrey (again!)
    - Dany in the House (w/o spoilers)
    - Brienne chopping some dude’s hand off
    - Arya praying
    - Theon looking miserable
    - Jon about to execute Ygritte (I almost wrote “Gwen” – too much Downton!)

Plus all the new characters of course. And direwolves.

Maybe a bit of a face off between Cersei & Tyrion?

A bit more of Renly and his army.

Doubt that. There’s some heavy post-production involved in those sorts of shots. For now I expect some shots of the major characters, and some actual in-show dialogue would be great.

Doubt you’ll see anything that requires extensive CGI outside the first few episodes. Chances are they are just now putting the finishing touches on the first two, maybe three episodes so the trailer will draw from that content.

I think it would be nice a trailer like Stannis claim for the Iron Throne in’Cold Winds’, but this time with Joffrey, Robb, or Renly (or Balon).

And in March we have one claim/trailer for every king!

Not on topic but I found this link on Tumblr http://archive.foolz.us/tv/thread/18259847/#18260011 to this guy claiming to be an extra on Game of Thrones. He says he was in the Throne room when Joffrey has Sansa stripped and beaten and he says they actually filmed that scene with Sophie Turner. Would they actually film a scene like that with a 15 year old actress?

First true trailer released last year was 2 minutes long so I’m expecting a lot more than the Cold Winds teaser released earlier. We should have some dialogue and then a rush of action sequences like last year I’d bet.

    GOT first trailer

80+% of the visuals you can recognize from the first 3 episodes, most of that from the 1st epidode. I didn’t notice anything that took place beyond episode 7.

If they keep with showing the important new characters maybe they will show Melisandre….

I guess they could capitalize on Peter Dinklage’s awards and show some of Tyrion being Hand-y….

If I had my wish it would be some Jon beyond the wall I think or Dany, but since it sounds like a lot of Dany’s story will be new I doubt they will show that footage.

    It does happen.

Dakota Fanning was in a movie called ‘Hounddog’ that got a lot of flack for having a rape scene of the then 12 0r 13-year old actress. It was handled well in the end and a very effective, but tastefully done (as tasteful as a rape scene can be) scene that was not out of line.

I doubt anything will be shown, but implied nudity can still help express the power and emotion of the scene….

    James,

There are numerous ways it could be done. The easiest option is to only strip her down to corset and petticoat. If they want to include the rest, add some shots of underwear being removed from an adult body double, along with head and shoulders shots of Sophie reacting. The more daring option would be to have Sophie wear a skin coloured bodysuit, so she’s not really naked, but would look so from a distance (careful angles may be required), and while curled over on the floor. All depends on legal issues and more importantly on what Sophie and her parents are willing to allow.

Back on topic, much as Arya’s prayer is great I think it’s too soon to use that for a trailer, it references people she hasn’t met yet.

I’d love to see Melisandre and Davos, Robb with his army, Brienne fighting, Tyrion and Cersei confronation, Jon looking at the landscape beyond the Wall and Dany’s dragons flying (though it may be too soon for the CGI?). And a Catelyn voiceover (partially from the books)- “Five kings go to war, my son among them. Young men think battle is a game. War will make them old, those who live. They are the knights of summer. And winter is coming.”

It doesn’t matter if the underage actress isn’t the one being stripped, and that it’s really a body double- you can’t depict that on American television. You could mention it after the fact or imply it happened, but never show it. They have fairly strict rules about that.

I would love to see at least a peek of Asha/Yara in the new trailer. And more Margaery, please.

    Ours is the Fury,

Actually legally they can film a scene like that with Sophie and even show the nudity because it’s a nonsexual scene. Of course common sense would suggest that they would never do that because it wouldn’t go over well with people. The extra seems to be saying that Sophie was actually being stripped but would than cover herself so you couldn’t see anything. Even if they dont show any nudity in the scene it would still be very suspiring if HBO would film a scene like that with a 15 year actress and not use a body double. Part of me thinks they would never do that but then again last season they showed little Robin breastfeeding which I also thought HBO would never show.

and with HBO coming to the Netherlands…. HELL YESSSS!!!

we will be watching GOT on tv!!

Too bad where i live we don’t have ziggo… So i still have to download… Let’s hope Delta (the only provider where i live lol) gets HBO too but i doubt it cause they suck…

As for Sophie/Sansa. I doubt we’ll see her boobs but i doubt we’ll see a bodydouble either. Why would they film the scene like that otherwise. You’ll probably see her stripped from behind. She then covers up and we a shot from the front with her covered up… Anyhow real great work by Sophie by not ‘chickening out’ and showing everyone she is a real actress.

Really eager to see the trailer!! Especially excited to see Mel (=Carice) of course.

Absolutely not! That violates GRRM’s prose in a big way. A lot of ASOIF takes familiar fantasy tropes and dashes them. I love the fact Arya takes sword fighting lessons but she never wins a true swordfight and even gets Needle taken from her–she kills by stealth and surprise–not the formulaic way. Same deal with Jon–the bastard you really has (suspected) royal blood and possibly in line for the throne…but oh, he just swore his life to the Wall, so so much for that!

    greenie88,

With respect – we all have our own personal hopes – if you disagree that’s your prerogative, but I care neither for your tone, nor for your outrageous sense of ownership of GRRM’s prose. As Neil Gaiman put it, he’s not your bitch – and I doubt very much that you have a hot line into his mind either. If there’s one thing we’ve all learnt about GRRM since Game of Thrones hove into view, it’s that he has the background to be able to take a fairly pragmatic view of the differing demands of the various media.

Regarding the Sansa-stripping scene: They could definitely do it tastefully while still maintaining the impact of it. All they need do is show the men approaching to do it, then flash to the floor or lower the shot to the floor and show her torn clothes dropping to the ground. I think something like that would be jarring, and might also make for a good scene change or end of an episode.

Fantastic. Just be careful of spoilers here and on other boards!

The community here is pretty good when it comes to blocking out spoilers. Whatever you do, don’t read any posts about GoT at Ain’t it Cool News. The posters there are notorious for posting spoilers on purpose.

Based off my experience with HBO, their programs never start at EXACTLY the time slot intended(in this case 9:00) usually because they’re showing previews of their other programs.’Luck’ wont start until 9:01-9:02. No worries friends, theres hope for a 2 minute plus trailer

I hope the rest of you get what you want out of it, and don’t be too disappointed when it ends earlier than you’d like ;)
